Pixel Glitch Type Distortion Effects

Give your typography a bold digital twist with the Pixel Glitch Type Distortion Effects for Photoshop. This set includes 8 unique glitch styles that break up and distort your text into pixel fragments, perfect for cyberpunk designs, tech-themed posters, or any project that needs a futuristic, digital vibe.

Simply replace the text in the Smart Object, adjust the distortion intensity to your liking, and customize both the text and background colors for the perfect match. The pack comes with 8 displacement map files (.PSD) and a main Photoshop file containing all the effects, so you can easily preview and switch between them without starting from scratch.

How to use:

  1. Open the "Pixel Glitch Type Distortion Effects.psd" file in Photoshop.
  2. Double click on the red labelled "[Your Image Here]" smart object layer thumbnail.
  3. Replace the sample artwork with your own design.
  4. Save and close the smart object.

How to change colors:

  1. Double click on any of the green labelled "[Change X Color]" layer thumbnails.
  2. Pick any color from the Color Picker window and click OK.

How to change the distortion intensity:

  1. Expand the Effects layer group in the layers panel.
  2. Click on the down arrow next to the "Map X" layer.
  3. Double click on the "Displace" effect.
  4. Set your own values on the "Displace" window.
  5. Click OK in the "Displace" window.
  6. Locate the corresponding displacement map "Map X.psd" on your computer and click OK.

Note on Displacement Maps:

If you get an error when updating the smart object, or if the design is not conforming to the effect, you probably need to tell Photoshop where the displacement file is located. To do that, follow these simple steps:

  1. Expand the Effects layer group in the layers panel.
  2. Click on the down arrow next to the "Map X" layer.
  3. Double click on the "Displace" effect.
  4. Click OK in the "Displace" window.
  5. Locate the corresponding displacement map "Map X.psd" on your computer and click OK.
